PittNet wired and Wi-Fi service will be affected in several locations on the Pittsburgh campus during brief network maintenance scheduled for this Thursday, July 31, from 9 to 11 p.m. Each of the following buildings will lose data connection for about 20 minutes within the maintenance window:
• Bridgeside Point II Building • Clinical & Translational Science Institute • Center for Biotechnology and Bioengineering • Centre Plaza Apartments • Darragh Street Apartment Complex • Energy Innovation Center • Gardner Steele Conference Center • Information Sciences Building (SLIS) • Lexington Tech Park – Building #1 (Office of Child Development) • Life Sciences Annex • Melwood Maintenance Building • O'Hara Student Center • Parkvale Plaza • Panther Hall • The Riviera Building • Van de Graaff Building (NPL) • Wesley W. Posvar Hall
MyResNet Wi-Fi service is not affected and will remain available at residences.
This maintenance is part of vendor-required best practices to ensure the continued security, stability, and reliability of older network hardware components. Pitt Digital has completed checks to ensure that the hardware is ready for the maintenance and will be actively engaged with the vendor throughout the maintenance period.
